12th edition of Net'Léman, the major lake clean-up - 25 and 26 May 2024

Net'Léman is back for its 12th edition on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May 2024.

The theme will be fragmentation of plasticsThis is the "natural" evolution of these fragments into exponentially smaller and smaller elements. So it's important to act before these fragments become more numerous and invisible. Riverbanks, harbours, landing stages and all the places most frequented during the year will be scrutinised, as litter knows no boundaries.

In 2018, a study commissioned by the Association pour la Sauvegarde du Léman (ASL) revealed that 50 tonnes of plastic contaminate Lake Geneva every year. The ASL subsequently set up the Pla'stock projectA comprehensive study of the presence of micro- and macroplastics on the beaches of Lake Geneva. The study combines participatory science and scientific characterisation of microplastics. Preliminary results are available in the quarterly magazine "Lémaniques no. 127 of the ASL.
