Meet the ASL at World Wetlands Day - 5 February at 1pm in Geneva

To mark the World Wetlands DayThe ASL is celebrating aquatic plants and their importance to the ecosystem with a visit to the Eaux-Vives lagoon in Geneva. We invite you to discover the intertwined destinies of the Characeae and the red mullet.

Since 1980, improvements in the quality of the water in Lake Geneva have led to the return of Characeae. Thanks to the reappearance of these aquatic plants, Red Nets have gradually re-colonised Lake Geneva. Until 1990, it was very rare to see them. Since then, the species has returned to the lake as a winter visitor and then as a breeder.

Rendezvous this Sunday at 1pm in front of the educational board on the Quai Gustave-Ador.
