The invisible living and plastic world of Lake Geneva, at MEG - Sunday 4 February from 11am to 6pm

In this workshop, we invite you to discover the tiny organisms living in Lake Geneva. Phytoplankton, zooplankton, crustaceans, molluscs and other larvae form the basis of the food chain, which you can observe and identify using the equipment provided.

At the same time, the plastic pollution that threatens these species will be examined by analysing a sample of sand taken from Baby plage. From the macro to the micro, the focus will be on the fragmentation of plastics in the environment and the damage this can cause to aquatic organisms in Lake Geneva.

Finally, solutions to combat this pollution will be presented and discussed.
