Help us measure the transparency and colour of Lake Geneva to understand seasonal variations in water quality across the whole lake, as part of a participatory science project by theEPFL in collaboration with theAssociation pour la Sauvegarde du Léman (ASL) and theEAWAG.
We are looking for 500 volunteers with access to a boat on Lake Geneva to carry out measurements from June 2024 to October 2025, using a Secchi disc or the application EyeOnWater.
Every measurement counts and will help to collect the data needed to give scientists a better understanding of the complex ecosystem of Lake Geneva. There are therefore no constraints on the number, location or frequency of measurements. Whether you are on Lake Geneva for business or pleasure, your contribution is important.
By taking part in this study, you will be playing an essential role in assessing the health of Lake Geneva and enabling scientists to identify any problems and guide conservation measures.
