The impressive annual input of plastic into Lake Geneva revealed by an ASL study: Léman Plastic Action
In this issue of Lémaniques magazine, find out more about the Léman Plastic Action study, carried out by ASL in collaboration with Earth Action. This is an update of an initial scientific study commissioned by ASL in 2018, which showed that Lake Geneva receives 50 tonnes of plastic every year. Today, this new study shows that this figure has now reached 100 tonnes. This is a theoretical approach, modelling the flows of plastics reaching the lake, based on existing data. Léman Plastic Action also proposes scenarios for reducing plastic pollution by 2040.
