19:45 – 20:15 History of Port Choiseul and presentation of its current port
Discover, with Mr Yves Richard, former President of the association of
Versoix heritage, the captivating past of Port Choiseul which finds its origins in
1768 in a strategic project by the Duke of Choiseul, minister to Louis XV, aiming to
Create a new city to compete with and economically ruin Geneva.
In parallel, a presentation of the Port, currently renovated in 2022 by the State of
Geneva, which has over 700 pleasure moorings, will be done by
Mr Grégoire Lauber, port keeper in charge of Choiseul, who will put in
illustrates the challenges associated with the management of Geneva's ports.
