In July 1986, the Swiss Confederation approved the ban on phosphates in laundry detergents. Forty years later, the Association for the Protection of Lake Geneva (ASL) is commemorating this major step forward, the result of unprecedented citizen mobilisation, and is calling for renewed vigilance in the face of current threats.
